Crown & Crumpet opened in the newly revamped Ghirardelli Square in the heart of old San Francisco in late September 2008.  A destination tearoom known for top-quality food and excellent libations, all with the style and charm that one finds in modern day Britain.  Crown & Crumpet infuses tradition with a large dose of panache and humor. There is no ‘Granny’s front parlor’ look for Crown & Crumpet.  Renowned English architect and designer Roland Courtenay Bishop has created an architecturally inviting space with a creative interior décor designed by owners Christopher and Amy Dean.

Dining at Crown & Crumpet is all about remembering that perfect afternoon tea party you had in London or what you might of imagined when you were a little girl but oh so much better! We have some classic British lunch options and proper Afternoon Tea is served from 11:00 am when we open. Last orders for afternoon tea are taken at 5:15 pm. After 6 pm on Friday and Saturday during the winter, when tea is finished, we will move on to an “aperitif” bar.  Guests can enjoy a selection of English ports, Madeira, Sherries and Champagnes, along with a small selection of Hors d’oeuvres, and Venetian “Tramezzini” Sandwiches. In the summertime, Crown & Crumpet will be open until 9pm everyday, except on Sunday when we close at 6pm.
